MUMBAI: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), an Indian 3D animation and VFX training academy, has appointed McCann Erickson as its creative agency. This comes as a part of the recent restructuring MAAC has done to strengthen its business operations in India and abroad.

Commenting on this, MAAC MD and CEO Ronald D'Mello said, "With the change in the business environment, it is very important to reach out to our audiences strategically. We were on the lookout for an advertising agency that will help us in evolving the brand to newer heights and McCann's previous track record really suited us. In the FY 08-09, MAAC will substantially enhance its marketing budget and will reach out to its audiences through an array of communication media."

According to McCann Erickson Delhi's SVP and GM Debashis Paul, "We are really excited about this new account. It's a future facing brand that is all set to establish its leadership in animation and advanced digital art education in the country and in overseas markets. This brand's developmental work entails a very good understanding of young people seeking unconventional careers that has been ignited by the digital revolution. We are well equipped with that understanding and look forward to building the MAAC brand along with the client team."

An education division of Maya Entertainment Ltd, MAAC is the pioneer of 3D animation and VFX education in India. In association with the University of Cambridge, London to validate its diploma courses, it presently operates in nearly 60 centres and has provided services to more than 30000 students in India, Nepal, Middle East and Sri Lanka, says an official release.
