Barclay's Bank romps home with Grand Prix Gold at GEMAS 2008

MUMBAI: The GMR Effectiveness in Marketing Awards (GEMAS) announced its winners for the year 2008.

Barclay's Bank romped home with the prestigious Grand Prix Gold award while Silver and Bronze awards went to Clorox and Rani, respectively.

The awards were given away in 12 categories in which either companies, agencies or brand guardians were able to make nominations. Categories embraced the different marketing functions deployed by companies in the Gulf, from print, broadcast and online advertising to PR and sales promotions.

Apart from Barclay's Bank, Clorox and Rani, those walking away with awards included Vimto (Best Use of TV), Barbican (Best Online Campaign), Splashtastic (Best Use of PR), and Emirates Driving School (Best Use of CSR).

Some other winners were Parachute (Marico), Dubai Cares, Tang (Whiz Kid), American Express and Oral B.

The GEMAS 2008 took place under the new custodianship of Mediaquest Corp, one of the largest publishing houses within the Middle East region.
