AdFest 2008 jurors announced; Ravi Deshpande, Sonal Dabral, et al represent India

MUMBAI: The Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AdFest) committee has announced a remarkable lineup of international creative leaders to head its panel of jury at AdFest 2008, which is to be held from 26 to 29 March in Pattaya, Thailand.

With the introduction of three new award categories in 2007 - Radio, 360, and Innova Lotus - AdFest 2008 will have nine panels judging a total of 13 Lotus categories. The nine panels comprise 63 jurors from 19 cities across the world.

From India, Ravi Deshpande (Contract Advertising), Sonal Dabral (Bates David Enterprise), Emmanuel Upputuru (Publicis India), Sumanto Chattopadhyay (Ogilvy & Mather), Ashish Chakravarty (McCann Erickson) and Debojyoti Purkayastha (JWT) have been invited to act as jury members.

AdFest president Jimmy Lam said, "In 2007, we introduced three new categories including Radio, 360 and Innova Lotus. We continue to evolve with the ever-changing industry. Therefore, we have already added another two categories to the Lotus awards lineup this year. They are New Director Lotus and Design Lotus, bringing our total categories to 13 including TV Lotus, Outdoor Lotus, Direct Lotus, Cyber Lotus, Film Craft Lotus, Print Craft Lotus, Radio Lotus, 360 Lotus, Innova Lotus, New Director Lotus, Design Lotus, Press and Poster Lotus."

In its 11th year, AdFest acknowledges the necessity for the advertising industry to continuously find ways to reach its increasingly hard-to-reach consumers in its 2008 theme "Reinvent," says AdFest official website.
