MUMBAI: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced a major change in its key management by replacing current MD and CEO Douglas Baillie with Nitin Paranjpe, reports The Times of India (TOI).

Paranjpe, who is presently serving as the executive director of the company's home and personal care division, will be appointed to the new position subject to approval of the shareholders in April.

Baille will act as the president of HUL (Western Europe).

"The changes reflect our strong commitment towards leadership development and our tradition of leveraging experiences and synergies of talent across markets," TOI quoted HUL chairman Harish Manwani as saying.

Manwani also praised Baillie for making significant contribution to the company's business in India, and said that Paranjpe, with his experience in managing business, will buoy up the company's sales and marketing.
