Discovery appoints Hitchcock to head marketing and branding

MUMBAI: Discovery US has appointed James Hitchcock as its marketing and branding head.

Hitchcock will be reporting to Discovery president and GM John Ford.

Hitchcock will lead and direct Discovery Channel branding and thereby initiate all phases of the marketing and advertising outreach efforts to maximise business and programming objectives.

He will be responsible for developing creative and media strategies, working closely across all departments to actively leverage advertising and promotional investments with innovative digital, communications and commerce opportunities.

Discovery president and GM John Ford said, "Discovery Channel has always charted a bold course in programming and brand identity. James continues that tradition by bringing a fresh, invigorating approach to his craft and by pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional marketing."
