MUMBAI: Shakoon Khosla from TBWA Delhi and Rajat Dawar from Rediffusion DYR are the two names that will be representing India at the Clio Future Gold Young Creatives Program 2008.

The program, open to copywriters and art directors worldwide, has selected 12 people, two from each of six global regions, who will now attend the Clio Festival in South Beach and engage in a 24-hour creative challenge.

While Khosla will be representing India in the art director's category at the program, Rajat Dawar is the Indian representative for copywriters.

The competition, which begins from 14 May, will be judged by Clio jury members and a client sponsor.

Others who have been shortlisted in the art director's category include:

Yona Hummels - FVH BBDO, Holland
Danilo Boer - Almap BBDO Sao Paulo, Brazil
Amanda Clelland - Droga5, New York
Eron Broughton - Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, Australia
Annie Klintworth - Lowe Bull, South Africa

The copywriters list includes:

David Orlic - Garbergs , Sweden
Edson Shundi Oda - DM9 DDB Sao Paulo, Brazil
Colleen Harlan - R/GA, New York
Rajat Dawar - Rediffusion DYR, India
Tim Cairns - DDB Sydney, Australia
Keshavan Radhakri - Team Y&R, Dubai

The 12 shortlisted candidates were tested on their best writing and art direction skills. They were judged not only on raw talent, but also on their understanding of core brand problems and their ability to solve them.

"I found the work very varied and I have to admit, the level was very high in general. It was very hard to choose, there was a lot of work and it was very good. I felt inclined to choose great ideas over anything else and I also kept an eye out for craft. I found many times that the combination of both was the hardest to achieve. I was really surprised at how developed all the regions were, it was more even than I thought," stated Young & Rubicam Latin America creative director Guillermo Vega.

Upon arrival at the Clio Festival, the 12 finalists will be paired together into teams and a creative brief will be issued to them. A day later, the teams will be judged by a select group of Clio Jury members, selecting three finalists.

The following day, these three finalists will present to the client sponsor before an audience of Clio delegates.

The winning creative team chosen will be awarded a Gold Clio plaque at the Clio Awards Gala on 16 May.
