Pradeep Guha re-elected IAA India chapter president

MUMBAI: The India chapter of the International Advertising Association has re-elected Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) CEO Pradeep Guha as its president for the year 2007-08.

The decision was arrived at, during the organisation's recently concluded Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai.

The new managing committee includes:

  • Raj Nayak – vice president
  • MG Parameswaran – secretary
  • Jaideep Gandhi – treasurer
  • Goutam Rakshit – member
  • Tanya Goyal – member
  • Rohit Gupta – member
  • Sam Balsara – ex officio (past president)
  • Ramesh Narayan – co-opted member
  • Pheroza Bilimoria – special invitee
  • Mukul Upadhyaya – special invitee

Spread over 93 countries and with over 6,000 members worldwide, the International Advertising Association tries to promote advertising as a force for growth in all free market societies.

The IAA is positioned as an organisation to recognize emerging cross-border trends and provide marketing communications professionals with an international, multi-industry forum for the global exchange of knowledge, best practices, professional development, experience and ideas.

The India chapter was initiated over 20 years ago with a view to foster a healthy environment for the growth of globalization in the communications industry. The India Chapter currently has a membership of around 112 members. Membership is by invitation only.

The major item on the agenda of the International Advertising Association in the current year is the holding of the 41st IAA World Congress in Washington on 7-9 April, 2008 and the IAA, India Chapter hopes to play a key role in taking a large delegation from India to this Congress.

Other activities on the anvil include a trip to Japan and a series of dinner meetings exclusively for the IAA members and their guests to be addressed by 'International Indians'.

Also on the cards is a one-day seminar on the ‘Future of the Brand’ with stellar content with plans to culminate in an evening of revelry and entertainment.
