MUMBAI: US media conglomerate News Corp has announced that its executive VP for investor relations and corporate communications Gary Ginsberg has been given additional responsibilities as head of global marketing and appointed to the office of the chairman.

Ginsberg is currently executive VP of global marketing and corporate affairs.

Under his new responsibilities, he will coordinate the company’s marketing efforts around the world. He will continue to direct News Corp's corporate affairs, including investor and media relations, community outreach and philanthropic programmes.

Ginsberg will report to News Corp’s chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch as well as the president and COO Peter Chernin and the CFO David DeVoe.

Murdoch said, "Gary's energy and integrity have helped to expand and improve the Company’s communications with investors, the press and community groups in recent years. His creative leadership and extensive knowledge of our operations worldwide perfectly position him to lead a renewed focus on marketing our brands and assets globally.

"I also look forward to Gary adding his voice to the strong opinions and sound judgments of our leadership team in the office of the chairman."
