MUMBAI: As part of the film's online promotional activity, Zapak Digital Entertainment has launched a 'Bal Ganesh contest' for Shemaroo's latest 3D animation flick Bal Ganesh.

Gamers can enter the contest, view trailers of Bal Ganesh and play two fun packed games at www.balganesh.zapak.com.

Apart from Bal Ganesh goodies to be won, there are audio CDs, diaries, height charts, calendars, mouse pads, photo frames, jigsaw puzzles and other merchandise.

COO Rohit Sharma says that Bal Ganesh is the first animation movie Zapak has made games for. "While we have games based on blockbuster Hollywood, south Indian and Bollywood flicks, these Bal Ganesh games are the first animation movie based games for us."

Shemaroo Entertainment VP, animation division Smita Maroo points out that games have evolved as an important medium to connect with audiences.

"As part of our overall 360 degree approach to promotions, gaming is an interesting tool to carry forward the fun and excitement of a movie. Not only does it increase the characters' recall and retention in the minds of the viewers, but it also serves as a valuable means to reach out to them. Hence we designed and developed Bal Ganesh games to cater to our TG - which is primarily kids - and hence the synergistic association with Zapak," she says.

The Bal Ganesh Contest is based on two games - Memory Mukabla and Modak Madness.

In Memory Mukabla, there are grids, with each one having an image hidden behind it. The gamer has to memorize the positions of the images and match them by clicking.

The lesser the time taken to match all the images, the higher is the score. In 'Modak Madness', the gamer has to help Bal Ganesh collect all the modaks to win points.
