MUMBAI: Promax/BDA, the non-profit association for creative and strategic professionals in the business of electronic media marketing, promotion and design, has named Jonathan Block-Verk as its new president.

Block-Verk will assume his presidency in January 2008, stated an official statement.

The announcement was made today by Promax/BDA chairman and ABC entertainment's EVP marketing Michael Benson.

In his new role, Block-Verk will be charged with the overall management of the association, and will work with the Promax/BDA board on long-term growth strategies.

"Jonathan's extensive multi-platform background will be a tremendous benefit to the Promax/BDA organization as we look to offer our membership more opportunities for interactive and peer-to-peer engagement," said Benson.

"This, coupled with his wealth of longstanding relationships and hands-on experience in event production, advertising and marketing, confirms that our extensive search process ultimately led us to the ideal candidate for this unique leadership position."

"I'm energized by the incredible opportunities for growth and enrichment I see within the Promax/BDA organization," commented Block-Verk.

"Being able to share my ideas, expertise and relationships to help amplify the value and services we provide and create new opportunities for the membership is very exciting. I'm looking forward to being part of a team that is facilitating the fundamental conversations about marketing, promotion and design and their roles in the monetization of content in the digital age."

Lee Hunt, president of Lee Hunt, LLC and a long-standing Promax/BDA member, will continue to serve as Interim MD of Promax/BDA until Block-Verk assumes the role of president.

Block-Verk comes to Promax/BDA from Canada's Brunico Communications Ltd., where he served as publisher and executive producer of events for boards magazine. In this position, he directed the re-launch of the commercial production trade magazine's website, www.boardsmag.com, launched Boards iMag and developed a number of annual directories.
