MTV, Vodafone tie up for marketing

MUMBAI: Vodafone and MTV, through its business development arm Viacom Brand Solutions, have announced a marketing partnership.

Under this partnership which spans over the next 12 months, MTV will create interactive content that will play out across screens and will roll out innovative consumer activation programs to deliver on the partnership objective.

MTV India VP sales and marketing Aditya Swamy said, "The Vodafone and MTV partnership reflects the new age of marketing synergies. Our understanding of what works with young people combined with the power of brand Vodafone gives us a platform to create unique multiplatform content.

MTV has already created and launched a series of animated music videos featuring a unique band 'Konees'. With proprietary music and lyrics, this is one of a 12-part series which will be played out over the next year, exclusively on MTV.

Vodafone, who possess exclusive rights to the Konees characters and the music videos, will make available this content to their users in the form of ringtones, caller ring back tunes, screensavers and wallpapers.

"With this our consumers can stay connected with both brands, wherever they are, be it at home or on the go," added Swamy.
