MUMBAI: Thomson announced that its Technicolor Services division has divided its Network Operations Services business unit into two separate business units - out of home (OOH) Media Networks and Broadcast Network Services.

The company's services division has appointed Chris Carey as chief marketing officer to strengthen its marketing and sales-support efforts.

Meanwhile Sean Moran has been named president of the Out-of-Home Media Networks business unit, and will be based in San Francisco, California.

Moran will be responsible for all business unit activities worldwide, focusing on the retail, exhibition (cinema), hospitality, and enterprise market sectors.

The Broadcast Network Services business unit will be led by Bill Patrizio, who joins Thomson's Technicolor Services division after serving in executive management roles at JPMorgan Chase, Universal Studios and The Walt Disney Company.

In his new role as president, Patrizio will oversee all broadcast channel play-out and network management services worldwide.

"There is a tremendous opportunity for growth in our out-of-home media and broadcast networks business activities," said Thomson's Technicolor Services division CEO and senior executive VP Lanny Raimondo.

"By separating these activities, we are better positioned to operate and invest in these two business units, which have the potential of doubling their revenues in the next few years. This strategy will enable us to leverage our customer relationships, facilities, and talent to support Thomson's broader growth objectives."

The OOH Media Networks business unit will comprise the Premier Retail Networks (PRN), Screenvision US and Screenvision Europe (a cinema network joint venture between ITV plc and Thomson) businesses.

As a result of this reorganisation, Thomson's Technicolor Services division will now have five business units: Out-of-Home Media Networks, Broadcast Network Services, Content Services, Theatrical Services, and Home Entertainment Services.

This combined role will enable Chris to further develop a platform for the division's technology strategy and its marketing and communications initiatives, across all five Services division business units, to address specific customer and market needs.
