Samsung to dole out gifts under Diwali offer

MUMBAI: Samsung India is doing a festival promotion called Har Ghar Mein Khushi, Har Ghar Mein Samsung.

This offers an assured gift with the purchase of any Samsung audio video or home appliances product to be given away during the promotion period.

These gifts range from glass sets, dinner set, to a Tata Sky Set top box, with the latter being provided with all 32" and above screen size LCD TVs.

For LCD/Plasma televisions in the screen size of 46" and above, the company is also giving a free installation coupon along the Tata Sky Set top box.

The total value of gifts being provided to consumers during the festival period is estimated at Rs 350 million.

Samsung India deputy MD R Zutshi says, "Our special offering for the festival season this year comprises of an exciting, new array of innovative products and assured gifts across all our products."

Samsung India has also launched a series of products in sync with the festival season. The company has introduced its new 'Easy View' range of Flat TVs that has especially been developed for the Indian market.

Available across the popular 21" and 29" screen categories, both in Ultra/Slim and regular Flat series, the 12 new 'Easy View' Flat TVs are differentiated as much on account of their design as for their enhanced performance.

The Easy View features include Channel Minimiser (On Screen Menu Display for easy channel surfing), Channel Scheduler (Switch from one program to another at a preset time), Channel Grouping (Group your favourite channels/programmes on categories) Half Mute (Reduce Volume to half at one touch) and Music Mode (Listen to audio with display off). The new 'Easy View' range of Samsung televisions is priced in the range between Rs 10,000 to Rs 22,500.

Some of the othe technology products that have been launched for the festival period includes the company's new range of side-by-side refrigerators including the World's first Quatro cooling refrigerator, new Silver Nano semiautomatic washing machines and the world's largest 70" LCD with LED technology.

Samsung RM-25DGSH four door refrigerator with Quatro cooling system, not only has four separate compartments, but each compartment is controlled and cooled separately with its own evaporator and fan, preventing mixing of odors as well as maintaining high humidity inside. The Quatro is priced at Rs 1,41,000.

Samsung has also introduced its new range of semi automatic washing machines with Silver Nano technology.

Samsung India director - sales and marketing Pradeep Tognatta says, "We expect to do business worth Rs 12 billion on an all India basis during the promotion period."

The company is expecting to sell 550,000 colour televisions during the Festival period, including 500,000 flat/slim TVs and 50,000 flat panel TVs.
