NEW DELHI: Come Monday and Fever 104 FM will launch "Bingo Tick Tock Boing" its latest marketing programme with the highest prize money in Indian radio contests ever.

Says Delhi station head Neeraj Chaturvedi, "It will be not just a fun game. It has explosive content, for the caller has to shout Bingo before a 'time bomb' goes off."

Fever 104 is going to shell out close to Rs 6 million for the four-week interactive programme, Chaturvedi told Indiantelevision.com yesterday.

If you get the thing right, you could win up to Rs 1,040,000 for just one correct shout, Bingo! That is, if the time segment which has that prize value happens to be the one you are playing, Chaturvedi explained.

The contest kicks off from 28 May. Chaturvedi said: "We have launched the dummy game for people to get used to, because initially it could be confusing, but it is really simple."

"The fun and excitement is that the bomb could go on before you said Bingo, because you are seeing your money value going up as the seconds pass. If you say Bingo before the bomb goes off, the amount of money that is on the counter is yours.

"But you might just decide to go for those few extra seconds for a little more money, and the bomb goes off, so you get nothing," Chaturvedi said of the format

Each segment has been prefabricated and no one, not even the person running the game knows which is the time segment, after how many segments in each segment the time bomb goes off, or what is the highest prize value in the time segment, Chaturvedi explained.

The programming of segments is done in Australia and each day the separate segments arrive for the next day, and no one can tamper with this, Chaturvedi assured.

"We want our listeners to win, for this brings us good will and we have done something similar in the past with our 'I Love Fever 104'contest, which was a big success," Chaturvedi said.

How does he measure success?

"By the number of SMSs we receive and the volume of prize money that goes out," he added.

In the previous contest a total of Rs 6.3 million was disbursed as winning, he revealed, adding that he expected the winnings to be much more this time.

Bingo is the main sponsor for the month-long programme, and the associate sponsors are Ashiana Builders, Air Hostess Academy, Limca and WLC College India.
