MUMBAI: In order to connect further with its consumers, online travel portal Cleartrip has invited entries for its Short Travel Flicks.

These will be screened tonight (25 May) at a venue in downtown Mumbai. The initiative was done in conjunction with short film company Two Plus Productions.

The Short Travel Flicks festival is an effort to invite short film makers to contribute films on interesting destinations and provide the users of Cleartrip.com with an interactive customer site. As a part of The Short Travel Flicks Festival, entries for interesting amateur videos were called in.

It consists of short films shot with mobile cam/ handy cam/ digi cam, etc, that cover exciting places spanning across destinations. Short videos of any place, restaurant or any interesting location like an area's most famous paanwalla or sandwichwalla, the tanga ride in your mohalla or just the panipuriwalla down the road form interesting and fascinating themes were submitted. Entries were submitted on www.shorttravelflicks.com.

The best entry will win an all expense paid trip to Clermont Ferrand Short Films Festival in France. The prizes will be declared after the completion of the festival by September, states an official release.

Cleartrip CMO Matthew Spacie said, "Cleartrip has always looked at providing value to its customers. The Short Travel Festival is a fantastic effort by short film makers to provide very original and personalized destination content which will be there for Cleartrip customers to refer to when they make travel plans."

Two Plus Productions director Cyrus Franroz Dastur says, "These travel flicks are an exciting way to reach out to the traveler, giving him personalised and first-hand information about a whole lot of places and spots in any city that he otherwise would never be able to get. For us, it's a very exciting venture as it gives us the fun of short filmmaking and the opportunity to explore new places".
