MUMBAI: International fast food giant McDonald's is taking its local India story forward by using the hot summer season as a period to introduce new marketing activities.

As part of its latest program, special kiosks will be set up outside it outlets in Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

To beat the summer heat, an array frozen desserts namely 'Flavour twists' and 'McSwirl', aerated and non-aerated beverages such as iced tea, cold coffee, 'soft serves' and 'floats' will be available for customers at these kiosks.

In line with its respect for local culture, all these offerings will be 100 per cent vegetarian. Incidentally, India is the first country in the world where McDonald’s does not offer any beef or pork items.

McDonald's has also re-engineered its operations to address the special requirements of vegetarians. Vegetable products are kept separate throughout the various stages of procurement, cooking and serving.
