Gary Marenzi joins MGM as co-president of Worldwide Television

MUMBAI: Gary Marenzi has joined Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) as co-president of Worldwide Television.

Sharing the division responsibility with Jim Parker, the two will oversee the studio's television sales operation. On a day-to-day basis, Marenzi will focus his efforts on the international marketplace, while Packer will focus on television distribution, channels and digital media for North America, working closely with MGM Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Media, Douglas A Lee, MGM chief operating officer Rick Sands announced.


Marenzi and Packer will be based at the studio's headquarters in Century City, California and will report directly to Sands.

Earlier Marenzi was in MGM betwen 1992 and 1997 as president of the MGM Telecommunications Group, where he was responsible for all of MGM's international television and worldwide pay television business activities.


Since June 2006, Marenzi has held the role of president of Ensequence, Inc. where he spearheaded efforts to develop interactive television programming applications worldwide. During the same time he was president of Marenzi & Associates which he founded in 2004 to provide strategic management advice and implementation for the media and entertainment industry. Some of Marenzi's clients included Lucasfilm Ltd. and IMAX Corporation.
