MUMBAI: Day one of Promaxbda India 2007 ended with Channel [V] head honcho Amar Deb presenting creatives from this year's gold award winners at Promax worldwide conferences. The promotional spots ranged from a variety of genres including news television, movie channels and sports.

Earlier, Fox International Channels (Italy) creative director Elena Frova presented the case study of the promotional campaign of three new channels of the group: FoxLife, FoxCrime and Cult.

The session albeit a treat for the senses, provided insights into a formerly misplaced FoxLife on-air campaign. Frova admitted, "We made a mistake with the earlier campaign. The new campaign though, stressed on the diversity of the people who saw the channel and it turned out to be successful."

In another session, director and co-founder of Dunning Eley Jones Liz Dunning demystified IPTV and spoke about the current scenario using the case study of BT Vision which provides the triple play services in the UK.

"User Experience (UXP), Graphic User Interface (GUI), Pay Per View (PPV) are some of the deliverables which will differentiate IPTV from traditional TV. Viewers will become users and every button press, every promo viewed and every movie rented will be tracked through the service," she stated.

Summing up, Dunning said, "IPTV should really be all about damn good television. Even though it is powered by computer technology and broadband, it still needs to do what a television is supposed to do - entertain."
