Haier Mobile appoints Kapil Dev as brand ambassador

BANGALORE: Haier Mobile has announced the appointment of the Wisden Indian Cricketer of the Century Kapil Dev as its brand ambassador in India.
In his role as Brand Ambassador for Haier Mobile, Kapil Dev will participate in all major brand and product promotions on TV, in print, and other media. The relationship also includes participation in events such as new mobile phone launches and trade events.
A company release states that Haier identified Kapil Dev from among several contenders as its ambassador for his universal appeal.

Haier Mobile, which has the second largest share in India's CDMA market, has entered into a spate of strategic collaborations with leading service providers in the country, including Tata Indicom and Reliance. In addition, it is already emerging as one of the top players in the GSM space.

In the coming weeks Haier Mobile will launch many new phones in both the GSM and CDMA categories and also make important strategic moves to address the sector.
