'Hello!' magazine launches in India

MUMBAI: European celebrity news magazine Hello! will launch in India on 21 March. The magazine is being brought to India by Worldwide Media (WWM), a 50:50 company owned by BBC Worldwide and The Times Group. WWM also publish the Femina, Filmfare & Top Gear magazines and host the Filmfare awards.

The first Indian edition of the magazine will have cover spreads and exclusive scoops on the Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar nuptials.The magazine had earlier bagged worldwide exclusive rights to the wedding.

Ola! and Hello! have been part of the publishing industry for over 63 years and the Indian edition, which will appear monthly, will retain its international format.

 

Owned by Spanish Publisher Eduardo Sanchez Junco, Hello! UK was first published in 1988 and was inspired by Eduardo's Spanish Magazine - Ola!. In the UK, Hello! accounts for 23 per cent of the celebrity magazine market since its very inception.
