HLL organises 'Cricket Star' meet with Kapil Dev

MUMBAI: HLL brand Fair and Lovely Menz Active, the presenting sponsor on Investors in Cricket (IIC) promoted reality series 'Cricket Star' brought the final contestants of the series face to face with cricketer Kapil Dev in Mumbai.

On the occasion, HLL vice president skin care Ashok Venkatramani said, "FAL Menz Active is happy to be associated with the first ever reality cricket show in India. The reality cricket show represents the opportunity to unearth new talent in the field of cricket - it is our contribution to the Indian cricket and we are certain this will help discover many Sachins, Dhonis, Pathans and Sehwags. We see this support we are extending as a sure way of changing the story of Indian cricket and taking it to greater heights of glory."

The series which is simulacast on DD and Zee has entered its final round with the show being thrown open for public voting. The winner will be announced on 27 March. Kapil Dev spent some time with the 11 finalists encouraging them and wishing them the very best.

'Cricket Star' is an interactive multimedia talent hunt for the best young cricketer in the world. Cricket Gurus Kapil Dev, Saurav Ganguly and Sanjay Manjrekar are the selectors while Robin Singh is the Director of the Academy. Ajay Jadeja is the Cricket Expert and Analyst. The show has been commissioned to Miditech Pvt. Ltd.

While the winner of Fal Menzactive 'Cricket Star-Lakhon Mein Ek' will win a year's all expenses paid contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club (one of 18 professional first class teams in the UK) and other cash prizes, the final 11 contestants will also have the opportunity to participate in the global rollout of Cricket Star, which is slated for a UK launch in June 2007 and a subsequent launch in Pakistan.
