Mumbai Intl Airport awards ad duties to Times Innovative Media

MUMBAI: Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (Mial) has awarded the contract for advertisement rights at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) to Times Innovative Media Pvt. Ltd. (TIMPL), which is expected to generate revenues of Rs. 238.5 crore for Mial.

As part of the contract, TIMPL will design, develop and maintain all advertisement locations inside the terminals and in the outdoor premises at CSIA for the next three years. The primary selection criteria were TIMPL's capabilities in designing locations as per international standards and introducing latest innovative forms of advertising solutions. Apart from the financial criteria, additional emphasis was placed on the overall design philosophy, informs an official release.

TIMPL, which will take over the advertising locations from April 2007, was chosen from among four shortlisted bidders in the out of home advertising space including Lakshya Media in association with Golden Media Infix and Advertising from Dubai, J.C. Decaux and Clear Channel.

MIAL managing director, G. V. Sanjay Reddy said: "Being the busiest airport in the country and an international gateway to India, CSIA is an ideal location for targeted advertising for leading brands. We are confident that with their expertise in out of home advertising, TIMPL will be able to leverage the opportunity at CSIA for the benefit of advertisers and passengers while creating a uniform standard of presentation benchmarked on international standard."

TIMPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Entertainment Network (India) Limited, part of Bennett Coleman & Company Ltd.
