India gets nominated for 57 entries at Cannes Lions

MUMBAI: As the 54th Cannes Lion International Advertising Festival 2007 declares the entries short listed from agencies across the globe, Indian companies have their fingers crossed.

As announced, the Indian contingent has been nominated for three entries in the Promo category, eight in Direct, five for Radio, 20 in the Press category, 14 in Outdoor and seven in the Media category.

This totals India's count to 57 nominations across the six categories.

The Promo category JWT Mumbai has been selected for two entries along with Rediffusion DY&R Bangalore. In Direct, JWT Mumbai has the most nominations with four, followed by O&M Bangalore with two, Everest Brand Solutions Mumbai, Contract Advertising Delhi and VGC with one each.

In Radio, O&M has two entries, with Ambience Publicis Mumbai, Leo Burnett and Mudra Communications Delhi falling in line with one each.

McCann Erickson Mumbai has cornered seven entries in the Press category, followed by JWT Mumbai and Grey Worldwide Mumbai with four and three respectively.

In the Outdoor Category, O&M has six entries, Leo Burnett two entries and Rediffusion DY&R Mumbai has two. While Grey Worldwide, McCann Erickson Mumbai, Euro RSCG Mumbai and Lowe Mumbai has one each.

In Media Lions category, O&M has three entries, Rediffusion DY&R Bangalore/Outdoor Advertising Professionals Bangalore has one and JWT Mumbai, Leo Burnett Mumbai and Madison Communication has one entry each.

The winners in the Promo and Direct categories will be announced on 19 June. The Radio, Outdoor and Media Lion winners will be announced 20 June and the Press category will be announced on 21 June.
