eBay & Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy partner to promote careers in music

MUMBAI: eBay India and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy, have entered into a partnership which will allow eBay users worldwide to showcase their singing talent.

Interested aspirants can purchase the admission forms online on eBay India for Rs 600 to apply to the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy.

Post submission of the admission forms, the applicants will be auditioned by the Academy mentors at four Indian cities and 40 talented singers will be chosen for the one year programme. These students will be trained so that they have a solid foundation to kick-start their career as performing musicians.

This is the first ever sale of an educational institute's admission forms on eBay India, states an official press release.

eBay India spokesperson Deepa Thomas said, "This is for the first time that an educational institute is selling its application forms on eBay India. We are pleased to be associated with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy to boost Indian singing talent. Millions of aspiring Indian singers from across 670 cities in India and 150 countries worldwide can avail of this great career opportunity by logging on to eBay."

Admission forms for the first batch of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy are available on eBay India until 25 June.

Said Gajendrra Siingh, the man behind the talent shows and the current producer of Star Voice of India, "The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy has always been my dream. I wanted to build a platform for aspirants who have a great love for music and want to make a mark in the world of music. We have tied up with eBay to make the forms accessible to all talented singers."

The one year residential programme at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Academy lays emphasis on overall personality development boasts a curriculum with daily music sessions, grooming sessions, critical insights on song recordings, mini show of the students every three months and a continuous assessment throughout the course.

The Academy consists of faculty stalwarts like like Ustaad Bismillah Khan, Girija Devi, Pt. Ravi Shankar, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh among others.
