MUMBAI:
Radio City Chennai partnered with Unwind Center to host the
rock festival 'June Rock Out' on 15 and 16 June.
The
festival played host to 14 Indian rock bands across classic,
alternative, blues, glam, funk rock and metal.
As
part of the association, Radio City aired interactive contests
to prompote the festival. While The Radio City Breakfast Show
featured exclusive interviews with the bands such as Pipers
(Bangalore) and After Burn (Chennai), RJ Sharmilee mingled with
Chennai's rock buffs and captured the action at the rock festival
through live broadcasts.
Radio
City national head marketing Rana Barua said, "As the
music innovators in Indian radio, we are committed to creating
superlative content and giving our listeners the chance to
be up-close and personal with the best in music that the country
has to offer. Partnering the June Rock Out 2007 allowed us
to provide a platform for Indian musical talent in the genre
of rock music to showcase their genius and make their music
accessible to our listeners."
