RMAAI re-elects R V Rajan as president for third term

MUMBAI: Anuragh Madison chairman R V Rajan has been re-elected as the president of the Rural Marketing Agencies Association of India (RMAAI) at the second AGM of the association for 2007-08, held in Delhi. This is the third term of Rajan as president of RMAAI.

Reviewing the performance of the association since its inauguration in March 2005, Rajan said, "Though the association is only two years old, we have made tremendous strides in increasing the awareness about rural marketing and what needs to be done by the corporates to get a bigger pie of the fast growing markets in rural India.

"The rural ICT seminar, the third in the industry focused seminar conducted by RMAAI in association with Nasscom foundation has proved to be a tremendous success judging by the new ideas generated and the active interaction between the speakers and the audience."

Along with plans to bring out a book on case studies in rural marketing with Mica, RMAAI will also conduct a full credit course in rural marketing during the current year, where RMAAI will be totally responsible for the syllabus and the faculty who will be drawn from among the members of RMAAI, states an official press release.

Additionally, RMAAI is also planning to conduct a study to get a profile of rural shops and the purchase behaviour of rural shoppers.
