MUMBAI: E-city ventures promoted Fun cinemas has introduced a loyalty programme called 'Make-a-deal' for regular cinegoers. It offers each member customised promotions based on their specific habits or preferences.

Patrons can avail of the promotions under the already existing Fun Rewards loyalty program. With over 200 unique promos, the programme will try to ensure that the customer is not offered the same promotion twice. As an add-on feature, it will also give patrons the benefit of receiving a mini-statement of their last 10 visits.

Fun Cinemas COO Vishal Kapur says, "Fun Rewards loyalty programme is targeted for all our loyal members and focused to enroll new members by giving them instant and kitty benefits, whereas Make-a-deal takes it to another level and focuses on every individual loyalty member by rewarding the most profitable customers. This hasn't been practised ever before in Indian entertainment and retail space-where a loyalty card is used to offer personalised promotions based on smart-card analytics."

The programme is designed using a patented Rite Card and Active Promotions technology developed by GE Global Research Centre, Bangalore, which aims to deliver personalized promotions on a real-time basis to each and every member.

Make-a-deal will run not only in Mumbai and will subsequently implemented in all other Fun cinemas locations in India, in the future.

Fun Cinemas currently operates 50 cinema screens in eleven cities and fourteen locations. The company has already signed additional 150 screens in approximately 24 cities across the country, that will be operational by 2009.

In addition, the company has planned to acquire additional 200 screens during the course of 2007-08, totalling its screen count to 400 by 2011.
