MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group's out-of-home (OOH) media solutions unit StarSight India has been rebranded as Navia Asia.

The StarSight brand, currently in use in India and Phillippines, is expected to fully evolve into Navia in both markets over the next few weeks. Starting with Indonesia, it will launch OOH solution's under the new name.

StarSight India CEO Sanjay Shah said, "We have had a good run over the last three years, managing the OOH needs of clients of Starcom, as well as independent India based OOH-only clients. Post the rebranding we will be catering to independent clients across Asia as well."

Shah's designation will be rechristened to Navia Asia CEO and regional heads from different Asian countries will be appointed soon.

Currently StarSight India clients include Aircel, Bharatmatrimony, ING Vysya Life Insurance, Reliance Telecom, Singapore Tourism and Western Union, amongst others.

Starcom MediaVest Group CEO-South Asia and CEO-Specialist Solutions Asia Ravi Kiran said, "It goes to the credit of Sanjay and the robust organisation he has built, that what started as an experiment in two markets is being expanded proudly into rest of Asia. As the unit enters a phase of aggressive differentiation, I congratulate Sanjay and am really happy that the unit is adopting a new name that signifies direction and positivism."

Navia takes its inspiration from the root word of 'navigation', shares its name with a river in Spain, a Vietnamese-American actress and Chilean football striker. It will aim to show its clients new directions in connecting with consumers when they are out of home.

The logo and graphics of Navia have been designed by Starcom Mediavest Group's retail branding unit Enhance India.
