MUMBAI: Aviva, the world's fifth largest savings, investments and insurance group, has appointed Fast Track’s consulting division to carry out a review of the group’s global approach to commercial sponsorship.

The project is initially planned to run through the year.

Aviva’s current sponsorship activities have been developed to meet specific objectives in different markets. Aviva’s sponsorship portfolio includes the Aviva Ballkids at the The Australian Open Tennis, badminton in Asia with title sponsorship of the Aviva Singapore Open and the Aviva CofCo China Masters, and Title sponsorship of solo yachtswoman Dee Caffari’s 2008/09 Vendée Globe Aviva Ocean Racing campaign.

Fast Track’s task will be to provide a strategic review of the role that sponsorship can play globally for the Brand across its key territories and to develop a framework to evaluate future opportunities.

Aviva group brand development director Sally Shire said, "Our 'Forward Thinking' campaign has begun to generate some real momentum and we are now keen to explore the broader role that commercial sponsorship can play to help us drive this and the business forward. We're delighted to be working with Fast Track Consulting to help us frame the role that commercial sponsorship will offer the business in the future".

Fast Track managing partner Andy Westlake says, "We are really looking forward to working with Aviva on such an exciting project. Aviva is a major global organisation that have reached an important stage in their evolution so we are delighted to be working with them to develop their future sponsorship strategy”.
