Turner promotes Eslinda Hamzah to senior VP for Asia Pacific

NEW DELHI: Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. (Turner) is strengthening its hotel, in-flight and travel sales with the promotion of Eslinda Hamzah from vice president to senior vice president for CNN's broadcast and commercial sales and marketing and affiliate relations, Asia Pacific. This is with immediate effect.

The expansion of Hamzah's current responsibilities will allow added focus on the hotel, in-flight and travel sector upholding CNN's existing leadership position. She will continue to be responsible for the management of CNN's broadcast affiliate relations and sales of the network's broadcast services that include CNN's trademark breaking news coverage and feature programming to broadcasters across the Asia Pacific region.

On the marketing side, Hamzah oversees brand, sponsorship, creative services, and events. Overall, she works closely with CNN's editorial, advertising, sales and distribution teams to drive the global news brand's business and promotional strategies within the region.

Hamzah joined Turner from the Associated Press Television News (APTN), where she was regional executive for Asia, handling APTN's subscription business across the region since 1997. Prior to her APTN appointment, Hamzah worked with Asia Business News in Singapore as a market development manager, responsible for the development and expansion of distribution and programme syndication in South East Asia and Indo-China.

Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS), a Time Warner company, and a major producer of news and entertainment products around the world. In the Asia Pacific region, Turner distributes CNN International, CNNj (Japan), CNN Headline News, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, Pogo and Boomerang as well as interactive news and entertainment content.
