BANGALORE: Airtel Karnataka has announced STD calls to any number in South India at just Re 1 per minute.

An Airtel Karnataka customer can now make unlimited STD calls to any number in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra at just Re 1 per minute.

The offer is valid for both prepaid and postpaid customers in Karnataka starting from 11 December 2007 through 15 January 2008. The discounted rates are automated by default for all prepaid customers. For postpaid customers, the rates will reflect in their February 2008 and March 2008 bills.

Announcing the launch of this new offer in Karnataka, Bharti Airtel Karnataka mobile services COO Yatish Mehrotra said, "Christmas and New Year festivals are celebrated by most of us with great fervour, and as our customers prepare to bring in the cheers and celebrations, the need to wish our near and dear ones should be easy and affordable. We are sure that all our customers will make the most of this discounted rate. "
