Bharati revenue dips to Rs 9.8 billion in 2006-07

DELHI: Prasar Bharati has posted a revenue of Rs 9.76 billion
revenue for 2006-07, dipping from Rs 10.47 billion in the
year-ago period.
While
the revenue for 2004-05 was Rs 6.9 billion, it was Rs 5.52
billion in 2003-04.
The
revenue of the public broadcaster was Rs 5.84 billion in 2002-03.
The
public broadcaster is exploring different ways of revenue generation
even as it is facing stiff competiition from private TV channels
who are taking away audiences with a mix of popular soaps, reality
shows and movies.
