MUMBAI: Big FM, Bangalore in association with Aptech has launched a contest 'Lakshadipathi Yaaru' or 'Beat the bomb' wherein contestants will get an opportunity to win up to Rs 10,00,000 as prize money.

Beginning from today, the contest is part of the breakfast show Big Coffee, hosted by RJ Kiran and Harsha.

The contest will have a computerised voice rattling off amounts of money in increasing value, each amount separated by five seconds of silence. The contestant has to beat the bomb which is planted between any two amounts and say 'stop' before the bomb explodes. If the bomb explodes before the caller can say 'stop', the player will lose the game.

The contest is open for the next 12 days and the winners will be rewarded on 1 September.

Big FM Bangalore station head Kamal Mohandas said, " We have received tremendous support from the city of Bangalore and what better way than to thank them by getting them to win money. The contest is extremely inspirational and the format ensures that maximum number of our listeners get the opportunity to test their greed. The contest is not just about fun and games for the callers, but also an innovative method to ensure frequency recall in addition to great content and listener involvement."
