MUMBAI: On the occasion of the 60th anniversary on India's independence, Elephant Advertising, a subsidiary of CineMaya Media Group Advertising coordinated the participation of clients across several cities in the US.

The clientele included DirceTV, Jet Airways, Air France, Indus American Bank, Shaadi.com, MCHI, The Indian Express, and Divya Bhaskar and celebratory festivals were held across two weekends in New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles, San Jose, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago.

The parade in New York, which is organized by The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) in the Tri-State area in New York, reported a record crowd of 1,00,000 attendees waving the Indian flag and partaking in the festivities. This year it was the first time in FIA history a female president Shobhana Patel, presided over the organisation and the parade.

Patel said, "Elephant Advertising has been the biggest supporter of FIA's annual parade in New York City this year. We are very grateful for their participation as their help and contribution was beyond our expectations. Their clients which include both Indian and American corporations contributed and participated in our celebration, helping make it a successful event. This sets them apart."

CineMaya Media Group chairman Sunil K Hali says, "This is a very important year for Indians around the world as India marks its 60th Anniversary. We are very fortunate that we have been able to support the various not-for-profit community organizations across the country, which conduct celebratory events to mark the Independence each year. Our event teams across the country have done a wonderful job in making this the biggest year yet for the agency in terms of participation and creativity."

Elephant Advertising also brought on board Brazilian Samba dancers for DirecTV, beautiful floats with Indian themes, music and lots of food.

Elephant Advertising coordinates and sponsors over 200 events each year for its various clients. For Shaadi.com, the agency developed an idea that represented a dream wedding, having a horse and carriage complete with a bride and groom parade down Madison Avenue.
