MUMBAI:ESPN Star Sports (ESS) has kicked off the ground auditions in Mumbai of Clinic All Clear Dream Job, a national level talent hunt for a sports presenter.

Based on a successful international format followed in the US and Europe, Clinic All Clear Dream Job offers a one-year contract with the broadcaster.

The winner of 'Clinic All Clear Dream Job' will become a presenter for Star Cricket.

The Mumbai round saw sports enthusiasts queue up for auditions. The participants were taken through various rounds of spontaneous commentary and interviews in front of the celebrated jury that comprised expert cricket analyst and commentator, Alan Wilkins, noted actor and cricket presenter Mandira Bedi, and ESS executive producer, news Sharon Van Zwieten.

Wilkins said, "A sports presenter's job is an extremely demanding one. Passion and knowledge of the nuances of the game are prerequisites. Additionally, one needs to have good screen presence and an ability to react spontaneously on live TV in front of millions of viewers.

"Indians are extremely passionate about their favorite sport and almost everybody is an expert of the game. We are inundated with interesting emails and comments during our chat shows. Clinic All Clear Dream Job is our effort to salute and recognise the hidden talent in the country as it will provide everybody an opportunity to test their skills in real situations."

Bedi says, "The Delhi auditions were very exciting. One of the interesting aspects which came out clearly was the seriousness of the show and what it stands for. We had senior professionals from across industries including IT software, aviation and others who came to seek an alternate career as a sports presenter. The trend has continued in Mumbai as well. I am really surprised to see the depth of talent and it will be a difficult task for us to select the winner.

"I am very excited with this new association with the number one sports network in India and the world over. Working with ESPN STAR Sports is like a dream come true for me… it's my dream job," added Mandira.

Van Zwieten says, "We at ESPN Star Sports are committed towards our passionate viewers by providing them interesting and innovative content to bring them closer to their favorite sport.

" Clinic All Clear Dream Job is in continuation of our efforts and it makes me extremely proud to be associated with a programme like this. We are sure that we will unearth a few jewels from the sports loving people of India. I am looking forward to the various audition rounds across the country".
