Bharti Airtel Limited, a group company of Bharti Enterprises,
is one of India's leading private sector providers of telecommunications
services with an aggregate of 39.02 million customers as of
end of March 2007, consisting of 37.14 million mobile customers.
Bharti Airtel is structured into three strategic business
units - Mobile services, Broadband andTelephone services and
Enterprise services. The mobile business provides mobile and
fixed wireless services using GSM technology across 23 telecom
circles. The B and T business provides broadband and telephone
services in 94 cities. The Enterprise services provide end
to end telecom solutions to corporate customers and national
and international long distance services to carriers. All
these services are provided under the Airtel brand.
Samsung Telecommunications India is a 100 percent subsidiary
of Samsung Electronics Co., Korea. As the part of its global
strategy to cater to the world's largest emerging telecom
market, Samsung has set up a mobile phone manufacturing unit
at Haryana, India with an initial investment of USD 15 million.
