IMD partners INX to meet growing demand for senior executives across sectors

MUMBAI: India needs over 1,000 CEOs across industries, many of them in new industry sectors such as SEZs, aviation, airport management and retail, according to an estimate made by IMD International Search and Consulting, a consortium of HR consulting firms.

In order to meet these demands, IMD has partnered in India with former Star CEO Peter Mukerjea's INX Executive Search Pvt. Ltd, to explore opportunities for developing both the inward and outward movement of high quality professionals.

Also in the key services sectors such as IT and ITES, India will need 2.3 million professionals (0.8 million for IT and 1.4 million for BPO) by 2010 further fueling the demand for globally competent management professionals, informs an official release.

"All of IMD's partner consulting firms, including INX, are uniquely positioned to help Indian and global companies in sourcing competent professionals from around the world", said of INX Executive Search director Peter Mukerjea.

Epsen Fuller USA managing director and a partner firm of IMD Tom Fuller states, "For the past five decades, India's best and brightest were lured by the glamour of the West. Today, a growing numbers of global managers are attracted by exciting professional opportunities being presented by India, the second fastest growing large economy in the world."

IMD's global three day conference being held in Goa has attracted 27 partner HR consultancies signifying the cross border movement of professionals both inwards and outwards. The conference will address various issues involved in the global movement of professionals into India. The heads of HR consulting firms will also deliberate on the strategies to capture a larger share of the Indian executive search market.
