Dentsu India launches creative boutique 'iki'

MUMBAI: Dentsu India has announced the launch of its third agency "iki," to be positioned under the Dentsu Creative Impact umbrella.

According to an official statement issued by the company, the creative boutique will focus on high-end graphics and integrated design services including web and digital design, retail and packaging design, space and exhibition design, as well as specialized application design in specific verticals.

Dentsu Tokyo senior creative director and a Dentsu veteran of 27 years Masahiro Fukada has been relocated to New Delhi to head "iki". He will work with, Dentsu's India operations vice chairman Gullu Sen. Fukada will soon be joined in India by two qualified designers from Japan who will constitute the core of the creative team.

"iki" is a Japanese term that stands for 'chic' conveys the intent and mandate of the new creative boutique.

"Dentsu has consistently been at the cutting-edge of great creative work. The Gunn Report 2006 puts Dentsu at No.3 in the global rankings for the most awarded agency worldwide. In fact Dentsu was the No.1 in global rankings for the most awarded agency for TV (co-bracketed with Wieden + Kennedy, London) in the Gunn Report 2006. In the 2005 Report too, Dentsu was at the No. 3 global position," says Sen. "With "iki" we wish to focus on producing top-of-the-line design products in India."

Dentsu Creative Impact already works with FedEx in India. "iki" is soon going to start work on a new-age real estate concept launch. It is also working on packaging design for a Swiss industrial products company. Two corporate identity projects for large Indian clients are under discussion, states the release.

"There is abundance of good work in the area of high-end design in India today. "iki" will provide a global quality product at client doorsteps in India. Client gets to work with global talent, and also interact at every stage of the design development. We hope also to provide a far better value equation to clients while providing globally competitive services," says Dentsu India chairman Sandeep Goyal.
