Promax/BDA conference from 12 to 14 June

MUMBAI: Promax/BDA conference will be held at the Hilton New York in New York city from 12 to 14 June. Promax/BDA has devised a 3day schedule of sessions and workshops around the theme of Intersections 360 for its 2007 conference.

"With the explosion of new technologies, platforms and consumer experiences, we are no longer television marketers. We are now content marketers," said Promax/BDA Interim managing director Lee Hunt. while announcing the sessions for the 52nd Annual Promax/BDA Conference. "This year, we've assembled the industry's top thought leaders to address that change with a three-day collection of the latest trends, best practices, and practical tools for Promax and BDA members."

In addition to previously announced speakers, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, filmmaker John Waters and fashion designer Kenneth Cole, this year's Promax/BDA Conference will include MTV Networks Entertainment Group president Doug Herzog, President of TV Land, Larry Jones and Lauren Zalaznick President of Bravo.

NBC Universal Television Groups' Chief Marketing Officer John Miller, will set the conference theme with a special Intersections 360 session, Ron Scalera of CBS, Chris Carlisle of FOX, Chris McCumber of USA, and SVP of Branding and Network Strategies Jennifer Darlan of TBS will tackle the role of 360 marketing for general entertainment services in a series of sessions covering all three days of the conference. Says an official press release.

This year's news promotion track will be headlined by CBS News SVP of advertising and promotion Jeff Kreiner, and CNN 's marketing SVP Scott Safon. From best news promos to in-program promotion to the next generation of news branding, this year's sessions will track the significant changes in local and national news marketing, and also include two sessions with news promotion guru Graeme Newell. VOOM HD Networks General Manager Greg Moyer, will lead the high-definition track, and PBS SVP marketing Lesli Rotenberg, will head up one of several sessions that look at the impact of consumer behavior in various viewer and user demographics.

There will also be a host of new media sessions exploring opportunities and challenges with YouTube, MySpace, viral marketing, mobile video, online advertising and place-based media, as well as practical tactical sessions on script writing, radio advertising, sound design, promo making, working with research, creativity and career advancement.

The event, which attracts top television marketers and designers from all over the world, has previously featured well-known speakers like Anderson Cooper, Dr. Maya Angelou, Larry King, Stephen Colbert, Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, among others.

Promax/BDA is a global, non-profit association dedicated to advancing the role and effectiveness of promotion, marketing and broadcast design professionals in the electronic media.
