MUMBAI: Publicis Network has announced the launch Red Lion, a brand design agency that will be headed by Elsie Nanji, as managing partner.

Red Lion will be positioned, not just as a brand consulting agency that does packaging and designing, it will be positioned as a unit that understands how brands work for organizations and not just for products, states an official release.

Speaking about Nanji's new role in Publicis MD and Publicis Network in India CEO,Nakul Chopra said, "In Elsie we have arguably one of India's best designers. Red Lion will provide Publicis the opportunity to better meet clients needs while also opening newer avenues of growth for ourselves. I have no doubt that in Elsie's stewardship Red Lion will have impact in the very near term."

Red Lion partner Punit Jagasia stated, "We are not a design hot-shop nor do we pretend to be a Brand Consulting Agency that actually does packaging or design work. We understand that brands work for organisations and not for products. That a brand idea is what creates differentiation and that the first step to developing any brand is its core, which is determined by a whole host of factors. Our endeavor at Red Lion will to define and design the brand by molding its core in a way that reflects exactly what it is and what the various stakeholders want but not at the cost of compromising its sanctity."

Jagasia added, "Our list of services will include brand strategy, nomenclature and verbal identity, corporate design, packaging design, digital branding, retail and environmental design and print and publication work. Simplicity, Creativity and Innovation are Red Lion's pillars, are some of the tools which Red Lion will apply to create sharp ideas, and give our clients the much-needed lead."

Nanji has built and managed creative agency Ambience Publicis. She stated, "I felt the time had come for me to venture into something I have never done before. I have always been interested in design and with the launch of Red Lion; I am all set to wear a new cap."
