Cricketers & bollywood stars team up for SOS India

MUMBAI: SOS Children's Villages of India, an organization that works for the betterment of children in need, is organizing a charity cricket match at the Wankhade Stadium on Sunday 29 April 2007 at 9.30 am.

The city will witness a match between the Mumbai Cricket Association Managing Committee and film artists Film Star XI. Besides boosting the lull spirit of the cricket lovers, the main focus of this event will be to raise awareness about the children in need and efforts of the organization in the country.


The huge bandwagon of bollywood glitterati headed by Mahesh Manjrekar will include Nana Patekar, Satish Shah, Shreyas Talpande, Suniel Shetty, Vijay Kenkre, among others. The team will compete with several leading current and ex cricketers under the captaincy of R M Savant the team will include Deepak Murkar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Javed Rizvi, Lalchand Rajput, Pankaj Thakur, Ramesh Kosambia, Prof. Ratnakar Shetty, Vinod Deshpande, and others.


The match is organized with the encouragement and support of six corporate sponsors which are ITC, IOC, Loral, Image Multitrade, Harshadhan International and Dena Bank.
