MUMBAI: On completion of 10 years in India, McDonald's has announced the opening of its 100 restaurant in India. This restaurant at Moledina Road, Pune was inaugurated by McDonald's India MD & JV Partner (west and south) Amit Jatia.

On the occasion Jatia said, "It's been 10 fantastic years in India and with the launch of this 100 restaurant, the joy has become 10 fold. I thank all our customers who have patronized us over the years and we look forward to adding many more restaurants across India in the years to come. At every step, we will continue to focus on our USP of quality, service and cleanliness."

McDonald's opened its doors to the Indian audience with its first restaurant in 1996. While introducing a complete new taste to the Indian palate, they also brought into the Indian market a completely new way of serving (QSR - quick service restaurants) and eating quick and tasty food.

To suit the Indian palette, the McAloo Tikki burger, Veg Pizza McPuff and Chicken McGrill burger were among other offerings that were specially formulated and introduced using spices favored by Indians.

Interestingly, Pune, not only got to witness the opening of the 100 McDonald's restaurant but also the launch of the 99t restaurant at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). These two restaurants took the count to seven in Pune and the total number of McDonald's Restaurants in India to 100.
