Motorsport sponsorship forum takes in Monaco in December

MUMBAI: A Motor Sport business forum organised by Sportcal and IM2 Media takes place in Monte Carlo on 6 and 7 December 2006.


The conference is F1-based in its content, with a selection of industry figures – including F1 team principals, title sponsor chief executives and leading sponsorship agents – covering more than 40 subjects.


One session looks at Running The Formula One Business. There are three sections here - Vision For The Future, Marketing the Sport and Running a Manufacturer Team. Another session exmaines the merits of Sponsorship Acquisition and whether the Team Image is all important. It also looks at the value of the Independent Teams and acquisition the Agency Way as well as what e Sponsors want from a Team. Speakers representing McLaren/Emirates WilliamsF1/Allianz, TBC/Toyota and Ferrari will take the stand.


The session on Sponsorship Initiatives looks at the Supplier/Sponsor Relationship and how a firm can best Leverage its sponsorship of a team. Another session compares Formula One versus other global sports. A comparison will be made between America’s Cup and Formula One as well as what what Formula One can learn from other sports like Golf and football.

Attendees will also hear about Formula One’s emerging markets. One topic that will be discussed is how one can attract commercial interest in the Middle East and how to negotiate in China.
