MUMBAI: Epson, which works in the area of digital imaging has launched the Epson Perfection V350 Photo scanner.

The new mid-range flatbed scanner features the built-in Automatic Film Loader (AFL), which allows users to easily digitise their personal collection of 35mm negative filmstrips in one step.

The company says that the product supports film archiving for home and small business users. The AFL resides neatly on the scanner’s lid and can be accessed effortlessly by depressing the spring-mounted mechanism.

Once opened, it allows users to slide in entire 35mm filmstrips of up to six frames at a time. The film negatives are scanned at high quality 4800dpi optical resolution with a 48-bit colour depth, a company release said.

Together with Epson’s Easy Photo Fix software which features Digital Dust Correction, Colour Restoration and an all-new Backlight Correction function, old photographs and films can be impeccably restored to their former glory.

The new product also supports scanning of A4-sized documents and 3D objects. With its innovative new hinge design, the scanner’s lid can be opened up to 180 degrees to accommodate scanning of thick items such as books and magazines.

With these advanced archiving features, achieving digital perfection from old photographs, slides or films has never been easier. The AFL makes the Epson Perfection V350 Photo the most efficient way to digitally archive 35mm filmstrips.

The product is priced at Rs. 12,999.
