MUMBAI: Castrol India Limited has announced the launch of the Castrol Power1 Throttle Max Challenge - to discover India's most skillful biker champion to travel to Valencia Moto GP, Spain.

Schedule to start on 21 May, with venues in 8 cities including Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, the event will culminate with the finals in Jaipur on 18 June 2006.

Castrol Power1 is a bike lubricant incorporating Trizone technology, engineered to meet the high performance requirements of bikers.

With the 'biker' craze heating up among Indian youth, around 1000 riders are expected to participate in this country wide event. The venues for the event this weekend are Bajri grounds in New Delhi and RRC ground in Hyderabad.

Castrol brand ambassador John Abraham said, "Power1 Throttle Max is what every biker is going to want to be a part of. This event will have every biker test his mettle and it is not just about speed but control. The test track is going to give two winning bikers that once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the Moto GP in Spain. I am certain that hardcore bikers are not going to miss this exciting chance."

As per the terms of the contest, participants can compete in two categories: Stock bikes up to 125 cc or in the 126 cc to 250 cc category.

However, participants must complete three stages on a dirt track - an open straight stretch, obstacle course and a wiggle-woggle section. The winner will be selected on the basis of a point system.

The Castrol Power1 Throttle Max champion in each category will get the opportunity to travel to Valencia Moto GP in Spain and interact with the Gresini Honda team.

It's that complete moment of sheer adrenaline rush where the most passionate bikers will get to test their skills. It will be a huge biking event across India that will get bikers together.

The Castrol Power1 Throttle Max will be held at two locations in the country simultaneously:
21 May at Delhi and Hyderabad
28 May at Chandigarh and Bangalore
4 June at Kolkata and Chennai
11 June at Mumbai and Pune
The Finals wil be held on 18 June in Jaipur.
