MUMBAI: After enticing the people of Jaipur and Hyderabad with on-air teasers for the last three days, Radio Mirchi, launched its first big contest in Jaipur and Hyderabad – Khel Lakhon Ka (Jaipur) and Lakhshae Mee Lakhshyam (Hyderabad).

The brand had launched its FM radio stations in Jaipur and Hyderabad in April.

“It has been over a month since we launched our station in the two cities – the response has been overwhelming – we see people are tuning to Radio Mirchi in a big way. We thought – let us have some fun and games – which is why we have launched the contests” Radio Mirchi Sr VP Kaushik Ghosh says.

According to an official release, the contest is simple and engaging. There will be a question per hour for 11 hours daily from 1 - 15 June (except Sundays) wherein the listeners can call the call centre number or SMS their answers and slogans after hearing the question on Radio Mirchi.

Based on the slogan, one winner will be chosen per hour for the hourly cash prize of Rs 501 (in Jaipur) and Rs 1116 (for Hyderabad as this is an auspicious number of Andhra Pradesh). One of the lucky 11 hourly winners will get to play the final hour for the daily bumper prize – which can go upto Rs 1,00,000.

Radio Mirchi 105 FM is the first 24-hour FM radio station in Jaipur while Radio Mirchi 95 FM is the first 24-hour FM radio station in Hyderabad and also the first and third private FM radio stations respectively to be launched in the country in the Phase II of radio privatization.
