MUMBAI: With the growing popularity of coffee shops in India, Worldspace Satellite Radio has announced a new alliance with the countrywide chain of cafés, Barista.

The alliance allows customers across 74 Barista outlets to tune in to Worldspace, and more specifically, 50 outlets will personalize this experience with individual listening stations where customers can select the channel and genre of their choice.

As per the offer, more than 40 stations will be available, from international Pop & Rock stations like Spin and country music stations like UpCountry to Jhankaar and Farishta, 24-hour Hindi music stations. In addition to showcasing Worldspace content, Barista outlets will also host exclusive consumer entertainment, promotional events and a variety of other entertaining activities, states an official release.

Worldspace Satellite Radio MD Shishir Lall said, "The alliance with Barista is part of our effort to give people across India a sample of the unique and personal experience that Worldspace offers. Coffee lovers and music aficionados alike will now have a chance to listen to their own kind of music, be it rock, hip hop or the golden goldies from Hindi movies through the Personal Listening Stations, and Barista outlets nationwide will reverberate with the wealth of content available on Worldspace."

Also speaking on the alliance, Barista CEO Partha Dattagupta said, "At Barista we offer our customers a global café experience with a choice of the best coffees. Our alliance with Worldspace will give us access to a wide selection of radio stations and an extensive music menu to choose from.
