MUMBAI: MTV Networks India has announced the appointment of Aditya Swamy as VP marketing. He will replace Vikram Raizada who put in his papers last week.

Swamy will join the company in mid-June and would be reporting to MTV Networks India MD and MTV Networks Asia executive VP Amit Jain.

As VP - Marketing, Swamy will be heading the Marketing function for MTV, Nick and Vh1.

Swamy, at present, is the general manager, sales and marketing for Coca-Cola Southern region, responsible for delivering revenue growth and market leadership, informs an official MTV release.

As marketing head for the South, he has rolled out multiple integrated marketing campaigns, which grew the business substantially. "In his earlier role in brand management, he has had many firsts to his credit, including launching Coke’s online destination, My Enjoy Zone and Georgia Coffee, the company’s foray into the hot beverage business," the release adds.

Announcing Swamy’s appointment, Amit Jain, said, “Aditya’s unique experience in youth marketing, coupled with his strength in both strategic and operational marketing makes him the right fit for this assignment. We are confident of his leadership in further strengthening the MTV, Vh1 and Nick brands and delivering added value to our viewers and clients.”

Commenting on his appointment, Swamy said, “65 per cent of India’s population is under 25 and MTV is a great platform to reach them. With trends changing rapidly, you need to keep your ear to the ground and think on your feet. It promises to be exciting.”

Equipped with a Post Graduation Diploma in marketing management from the S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Swamy is currently based in Bangalore and would shift to Mumbai with the new assignment.
