MUMBAI: After strengthening its marketing team in the Asia Pacific region, Turner has now announced that advertising sales vice-president Monica Tata will assume additional responsibilities to manage Turner’s entertainment networks in India.

Additionally Siddharth Jain, who till recently was CEO of the distribution joint venture Zee Turner Ltd, moves back to Turner India as vice-president of distribution and business operations (India and South Asia).

The announcement was made by Turner International India Pvt. Ltd managing director Anshuman Misra.

Tata will play a pivotal role in facilitating Cartoon Network and Pogo's operations in India spanning programming, marketing, public relations, production, research and licensing to drive the channels’ business initiatives and revenue growth. She will spearhead the development and launch of Galli Galli Sim Sim, the localised version of the revolutionary television series, Sesame Street, on Turner’s entertainment networks. In addition to her new responsibilities, Tata will continue to oversee advertising sales for Cartoon Network, Pogo, CNN and HBO.

In his new role, Jain will be involved in all content sales activities of Turner, including emerging technologies and platforms in the region. He will continue to work closely with Zee Turner and will be involved with industry forums and regulatory agencies.

"Monica and Siddharth, with their solid experience and proven track record, are the ideal individuals to drive Turner’s business in India to new heights. While Monica will be working closely with Turner Asia’s executive team to further develop and expand Turner’s networks in South Asia, Siddharth will be instrumental in the distribution of those networks and other content across multiple platforms in the region," said Misra.

Tata joined Turner in 2004 from Star India as vice president advertising sales. Jain joined Turner in 1999 and was seconded to Zee Turner at the launch of the partnership.
