Sriram Sharma promoted as Maxus B'lore GM

MUMBAI: Maxus Bangalore general manager Anil George has quit the agency. Stepping into his shoes, with effect from 1 June, will be Maxus Bangalore business director Sriram Sharma.

Sharma was handling the Titan account and has been with Maxus since 2003. He started his career with Maa Bozell in 1996 and has worked with McCann Erikson, Hughes Software and Initiative Media.

George will be with the agency till mid-June.

Maxus CEO CVL Srinivas said, "Anil is pursuing his career interests outside of the media agency industry. He has played a big part in making Maxus Bangalore a strong and vibrant office. We wish him the very best in his new assignment."

Maxus Bangalore handles businesses including Titan Industries Limited, Britannia Industries Limited, Himalaya, AMD and MTR amongst others.

According to an official statement, Maxus has doubled in terms of billing in the past two years. Eight of it’s current top 10 clients have been won in this period. Among it’s top 10 clients are Nokia, Hero Honda, Hutch, Titan, Britannia, TataSky, Dabur, Perfetti, Tata Motors and GE Money.

Srinivas added, "We have been able to attract good talent, and are today fully equipped across all our business teams. All our new businesses have a mix of existing and new staff. We are focusing on career development, training and staff retention measures. Talent management is the most critical element of our business going forward."

Among those who recently joined Maxus in senior positions are Madhvi Pahwa as director - Insights (from Coca-Cola), Ajay Gupte as the business head on Nokia (from TVS Motors), D. Naidu and Padmini Rathore also on Nokia and Anupama Vendantam as business director in Mumbai.
